I have some of each type of collection. The erasers are just simply amassed. They're small and cheap enough that it's not a problem, and I think they're all pretty darn cute anyway. The Polly Pockets and flutes are much, much more selective. I may only add one more PP to my collection, and that'll be that, but at the moment I like it how it is.

So good to have you in the ranks of the knitters.

Hi, I just wandered into your blog while browsing and this post cracks me up! I am the same way with quilting. I don't get fancy with triangles and little girls with bonnets, I simply cut squares and sew them together. And now I'm a quilter. Even worse. At the fabric store they now have pre-made quilts and you just put the stuffing in and add back to it. And I still call myself a quilter. ;) I always feel a tad guilty when I gift those one to people and they proceed to rant and rave about how talented I am...

Quilting is next on my list!

Welcome, too. :) Pull up a chair and sit a spell.

I have the some problem with having only reading as a hobby and somehow feeling like it's not a real hobby. But you'll hear all about that soon enough :)
